The Mechula 

The Mechula is a post-bop jazz quartet out of Sacramento, CA. Blurring the lines between jazz, 20th century classical, and the avant-garde, The Mechula seeks to write new and inspiring music that innovates within the jazz idiom, but stays true to the traditional roots of the genre. Influences include Kneebody, The Bad Plus, Brad Mehldau, Alex Mercado Trio, John Cage, Michael Andrews, and Return to Forever. With the release of their debut album "Same Old Same Old", The Mechula continues to try and break the mold, and make music that jazz fans, and general music lovers alike will enjoy.
